The East Whiteland Fire Company provided fire extinguisher training to the public Saturday at the fire station. The objective was to familiarize residents with the proper way to extinguish a fire, know when to stop and exit the building, and to learn various fire safety information. We remind everyone to have and maintain working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in the home and to practice an exit drill with the entire family. When the alarms sound make sure to get everyone out of the building and call 9-1-1.
The objective with the training simulator is to aim at the sensors below then spray into the bucket.
East Whiteland Career Firefighter Matt Cole explains the procedures for using the training simulator to those waiting to extinguish the fire. The simulator provides a safe and controlled experience.
