The National Fire Protection Association suggests not using consumer fireworks because they are far too dangerous. Make plans to attend a public fireworks display conducted by professionals in a safe area. Every year injuries and even death occur due to consumer fireworks, and 2 out of 5 fires on July 4th are fireworks related. Leave fireworks to the professionals. Sparklers burn at 1200 degrees Fahrenheit and can easily cause injuries or start a fire. Be sure to keep children away from fireworks or from picking up a fireworks device that did not activate, because it may be delayed. It is also important to keep pets safely away from fireworks and protected from all the loud noise that will take place. Celebrate July 4th SAFELY. This message from the East Whiteland Fire Company.
