At 7:39 pm Tuesday, a fire dispatch called East Whiteland, Malvern, and Berwyn for the RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) Assignment for a house fire on Oak Hill Circle, off of Summit Road in East Whiteland Township. A supplemental report of smoke coming from the roof was broadcast. Malvern's Ladder 4 arrived on the scene and initiated an interior attack finding a basement fire. East Whiteland Deputy Chief Chris Strauss arrived and established command. Deputy Strauss requested a working fire dispatch on the dwelling, bringing additional resources to the scene including Paoli and Kimberton fire companies. EMS units were called for a citizen inured while additional EMS units responded from Malvern, Medic 4, and Paoli. Fire Marshal's were on the scene as well as utility services and BelFor Service Company for restoration. At 9:05 pm crews began to break down hose lines and prepare for termination. Fire Police from East Whiteland, Malvern, and Paoli assisted with traffic control, protecting hydrant and hose lines, crowd control and scene security. Thanks to everyone who assisted. Crews did a great job preventing the fire from spreading.
