At 0053 hours on Tuesday, July 12th, 2022 the East Whiteland Fire Company (Station 5) along with mutual aid from the West Whiteland Fire Company (Station 6), Malvern Fire Company (Station 4), Goshen Fire Company (Station 56), Berwyn Fire Company (Station 2), and the Uwchlan Ambulance Corps (Station 87), were dispatched to the 600 block of Lancaster Ave for the reported building fire at Outback Steakhouse. Engine 5 responded immediately upon dispatch. EMS Captain 5 arrived on location and reported smoke and fire showing from the rear of the building. Engine 5 arrived on location and stretched a 1 3/4" handline and began fire attack. Rescue 5 arrived and assisted with water supply operations. Ladder 6 and Ladder 4 both laddered the building. Engine 6-1 arrived and assisted Engine 5s crew with fire attack and overhaul. Station 5 and mutual aid operated on scene until 0242 hours. The fire is currently under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshalls Office.
