April 12, 2017

On the evening of January 24, 2017, units were dispatched to a corporate office building located on Valley Stream Parkway in East Whiteland Township. Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the report of a cardiac arrest. Upon their arrival, crew members collectively worked together to deliver the necessary lifesaving care to the patient. As a result of the efforts from the crew, the patient was successfully resuscitated. The patient recovered and was eventually discharged from the hospital.

On Wednesday evening, April 12, 2017, crew members involved with the incident received a unit citation at the East Whiteland Township Meeting in the East Whiteland Township Building. The citation was presented by East Whiteland Fire Chief John DeMarco. The crew members were also thanked for their vital efforts by East Whiteland Township Supervisors Chairman Bill Holmes, Susan Drummond and Richard Orlow, and other officials including Township Manager John Nagel, Police Chief Eugene Dooley and Deputy Police Chief Chris Yeager.

The East Whiteland Fire Company is very proud of our trained and professional staff, including our career staff, our volunteers, and our support for advanced life support from the Malvern Fire Company Medic Units.
