November 11, 2015

East Whiteland Fire Company held a highway training course on Monday evening November 9, 2015 at the East Whiteland Fire Station. Hosted by the East Whiteland Tactical Fire Police Unit, the SHRP2 Traffic Incident Management 4-hour course was provided by instructor Joey Sagal from the Federal Highway Administration & the U.S. Department of Transportation. Rob Kennedy, PennDOT District Maintenance Manager for Chester County, operators from Abel Brothers Towing, PennDOT Emergency Service Patrol for Route 202, and members of East Whiteland Fire Company were all present. The Traffic Incident Management (TIM) course provides instruction on responder safety, incident scene communication, clearing the incident quickly, and other highway safety objectives. Each person attending receives certification with the Federal Highway Administration & U.S. Department of Transportation. As the incidents of emergency responders and highway workers being struck on our national highways and roadways, this training is critical for all responders working on the highway. Many thanks to our friends from the FHWA & USDOT for providing this course.
