Station 5, fully staffed by volunteers and career staff, answered 6 calls during the snow day. Members started the day off with a well made breakfast, then began pre-planning tanker fill sites in the first due coverage area. When the bell rang for the first call of the day, 13:02 (1:02pm), Station 5 was dispatched to William Henry apartments complex for an accident. Ambulance 5-1 with 3 and Engine 5-1 with 5 quickly made the response.

While responding to the Accident, Chester County fire board advised engine 5-1 of a wires call on Pikeland Rd in Charlestown township. With a crew on station, engine 5-1 had the incident dispatched to have the brush 5 handle the incident. Chief 5 then responded to the wires call holding the crew on station for pending calls.

Ambulance 5-1 arrived on the scene of the accident to find a vehicle versus a plow truck. With no need for the fire department, engine 5-1 was returned.

At 13:17 (1:17pm) Chester county fire board Advised Chief 5 of an Accident on the west bound PA turnpike at mile marker 318.0, vehicle reported overturned. Chief 5 and Engine 5-1 responded and Ambulance 4 was dispatched to cover ambulance 5-1. Engine 5-5 then made the response with 4. While Responding to the accident, Chester County fire board Advised of ejection which added medic 4 to the assignment.

Chief 5 arrived on the scene to find one vehicle overturned with all the occupants out the vehicle. One patient had a laceration to the head. Engine 5-1 and Ambulance 4-2 with the medic arrived on location and assisted with patient care and checked all other occupants of the vehicle.

After Ambulance 5-1 was cleared from transporting from the first accident it responded to the turnpike. Ambulance 4-2 with the Medic transported one patient to Paoli Memorial Hospital. Ambulance 5-1 arrived and transported three patients to Paoli Memorial Hospital.

While clearing from the Turnpike, Deputy and Traffic 5 along with ambulance 4-1 handled an accident on route 202 which was a property damage accident. 15:56 (3:56pm) while members were finishing up there lunch station 5 with medic 4 was dispatched to north bound route 202 for an accident involving fire. Ambulance 5-1 with 3, Engine 5-1 with 6, Engine 5-5 with 4, and Traffic 5 made the response. While responding to the accident Chief 47 while passing the accident on the south bound side advised that there were 2 vehicles with occupants still in the vehicle and no fire. Captain and chief 5 arrived on the scene with 3 vehicles and 3 to be checked. Ambulance 4 was then added to the assignment. Engine crews assisted the ambulance with patient care and clearing snow away from the car. Ambulance 5 and ambulance 4 both transported to Paoli Memorial Hospital. Engine 5-1 and 5-5 returned to station.

17:21 (5:21pm) Station 5 was dispatched to route 202 south bound at the route 30 bypass spit for a vehicle fire. Ambulance 5-1 with 3, Engine 5-1 with 4, Engine 5-5 with 3, and Traffic 5 made the response. Captain 5 arrived on location with one vehicle and the fire appeared to be out. Engine 5-5 was held and Engine 5-1 continued in. Ambulance 5-1 and Engine 5-1 arrived and crews checked the vehicle to ensure the snow and ABC extinguisher did the job. Crews still deployed 1 section of bumper line to wet down the engine compartment. Engine 5-1 and Ambulance 5-1 then returned to station.

Station 5 remained quiet for the rest of the evening.
