Company Rescues Cat Stuck in Storm Drain

Every once in awhile, the East Whiteland Fire Company gets unusual requests for services. In the past, this has included the cliche rescuing cats from trees to assisting trapped dogs. Sunday afternoon was one of those afternoons, when a community member called the station requesting our assistance with rescuing a cat stuck in a storm drain.

Company Responds to Active Gas Leak at Frazer Diner

At approximately 1233 hours (12:33 pm), Station 5 was alerted to the 180 block of Lancaster Ave at the Frazer Diner for a reported gas leak outside. Within minutes, Engine 5-2 and 5-5 went responding. The initial 9-1-1 call indicated that the gas meter outside of the diner seemed to be leaking.

Final Inspection for New Engine

On Thursday March 20, Chief Ken Hurley, Deputy Chief Chris Strauss, Fire Marshal Matt Fink and President Gary Sheridan traveled to Marion Body Works in Marion, WI to perform the final inspection on our new Engine. Busy Afternoon Includes Serious Accident on Rt. 202 and House Fire Response

Shortly before the start of the 4 p.m. rush hour commute, Station 5 along with Station 4 (Malvern) for their Ambulance and Medic were dispatched to Northbound Rt. 202 in the area of mile-marker 14 and Lancaster Ave. for an accident reported serious. The initial 9-1-1 calls reported a 1 vehicle accident with a patient ejected.
