Progress Report on New Building August 24

Thanks to the good weather and the work crews on site, a lot of progress is being made. We will keep you updated. A security officer is on site until completion of the project. The retaining wall has been raised and the entire area is shaping up to look really nice. Members Drill on Search and Rescue With Search Maze

Members of East Whiteland spent Friday evening bettering their skills using the TIC (Thermal Imaging Camera) and guiding crews through a simulated smoke filled environment. The members where split into teams of 3. Two members on the "search team" had their hoods turned around to cover the face piece on their mask to simulate the zero visibility conditions firefighters usually encounter in a smoke ... New Fire House Getting Close

On Monday August 11 members of the East Whiteland Fire Company were invited to a walk-thru of the new fire house building site. Much work has been done and the roof could be on in September. Moving day could be January, depending on the weather. Rob Fenza from Liberty Property Trust was the host and also the chef, providing some delicious hamburgers and hot dogs. Thanks Rob! Tanker Class for Firefighters

Area fire departments recently joined together in a Tanker Class given by state fire instructor Mike Risell. The companies involved were Valley Forge, Malvern, East Whiteland, Paoli, Lionville, and Kimberton. The purpose of the class was to instruct firefighters on the operation of tankers in the event of a major fire where the tankers would be providing a supply of water. The class was concluded ... Progress Report on the New Fire House Construction Site...the walls are up on the Route 401 side along with the tower. It is really starting to look like a building.
