On Monday, May 13, 2024, at the East Whiteland Volunteer Fire Association’s Board of Directors meeting, Fire Company President and Fire Captain Gary McCusker, and Member Karen McLay were sworn in as Fire Police Officers for Station 5 by Rich Orlow, East Whiteland Township Supervisor.

Fire Police assist with providing safety at emergency scenes. This includes crowd control and directing traffic. You will often see them at fires, motor vehicle accidents, police incidents, roadway hazards, and unsafe road conditions. They also assist with non-emergency events such as parades and other community activities.
