Down Wires Turns Into Brush Fire

On Sunday, March 5th, 2023, at approximately 2:30 PM, the East Whiteland Fire Company was dispatched simultaneously to two pole fires off Piper Lane and Spring Valley Dr. When arriving in the areas of these calls, it was determined that there was a large brush fire caused by wires down from a nearby power pole. Captain 5C took command and called for additional resources from Malvern Fire Company (Station 4), West Whiteland Fire Company (Station 6), and Kimberton Fire Company (Station 61). During this time, there were also three other calls in the area for power-related issues handled by other units on the scene. Crews operated on the scene for approximately an hour and a half.
