Engine 5 and Rescue 5 are now QRS vehicles!

What does this mean? Well, in addition to providing basic life support with our ambulances, Engine 5 and Rescue 5 have been equipped and licensed as Quick Response Service (QRS) vehicles. This ensures that our crews have a similar complement of life saving equipment on board of the fire apparatus that our ambulances do, minus the ability to transport.

This will allow crews on the fire apparatus to provide EMS care to patients while an ambulance from mutual aid is responding, in the event that an East Whiteland Ambulance is committed on another emergency or otherwise unavailable.
