The East Whiteland Fire Company responded to a traffic accident Friday afternoon at 4:08 on Route 30 just east of Planebrook Road in East Whiteland Township. A pick up truck collided with a utility pole bringing power lines down across travel lanes of Route 30. Route 30 was closed at Planebrook Road and at Route 352 while fire and utility crews worked at the scene. Due to heavy traffic, additional Fire Police were requested from Malvern Fire Company and Goshen Fire Company. Many thanks to assist units and the off duty California police officer who was first on scene and assisted with traffic.
