At 12:00 hours (12:00 pm), Station 5 along with Station 4 (Malvern) were alerted to a possible house fire along the unit block of Diane Drive. Within minutes, station 5 officers along with Engine 5-3 made the response. While enroute, officers were advised by Chester County 9-1-1 Fire Board of reports of smoke coming from the roof vents of the house. East Whiteland Fire Marshal FM 42C arrived on location first and advised of smoke showing from the front of the house and fire in the rear of the residence. Deputy 5 (E. Nowaczyk) arrived on location and established Diane Drive Command and requested the Working Fire Dispatch (WFD) to bring additional resources to the scene.

The crew from engine 5-3 arrived and advanced an attack line through the front door of the residence in order to find and extinguish the fire. Crews from Station 4 meanwhile initiated truck company operations, including roof ventilation and exterior window ventilation. The Crews also assisted in creating new egresses to remove debris from the house that cluttered interior attack crews.

Tower 2 (Berwyn) stood by at the scene as the Rapid Intervention team (RIT). Once the fire was placed under control, crews remained on the scene for a long time performing extensive overhaul and making sure all hot spots were out.

Thanks to all who were involved.
