On May 5th, the East Whiteland Fire Company had their annual fire prevention open house. This event was open to the surrounding communities and was a fun filled family day in the sun.

The community had a chance to learn and practice fire extinguisher training, stop drop & roll, Exit Drill in the Home and to sharpen their skills in a trailer that provided different scenarios. They also had the opportunity to watch Abel Brothers' demonstrate how they pick up a vehicle after an accident raising it high in the air and place it down onto a waiting tow truck. Visitors were treated to a demonstration by the Chester County Sheriff's department K-9 unit on how their dogs search and find explosives. The families also enjoyed a variety of different displays from surrounding businesses.

After all these fun activities the families were able to sit and relax to enjoy free food and beverages. The East Whiteland Fire Company wants to say THANK YOU to all families who came out and enjoyed the day with us.

Also, a special thank you to two of our favorite football team...E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles! Cheerleaders, Cheryl and Michele for making a special appearance.
