With cold weather on the way, use caution with portable heaters, keeping them away from combustible and flammable material. Be careful not to overload electrical outlets, and if using kerosene heaters, ventilate to avoid dangerous carbon monoxide gas. Christmas trees need to be watered and checked daily. As always, the East Whiteland Fire Company urges everyone to have working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in the home, practice exit drills, and in the event of fire or alarms sounding, get everyone outside and call 9-1-1. We want you to have a safe holiday season. Keep warm and stay safe.
