The East Whiteland Fire Company reminds everyone to have a safe holiday season, starting with fire prevention and fire safety. Having a dry Christmas tree can be a disaster. Make sure your tree is watered and remove the tree in reasonable time. Turn off tree lights at night and when you are away, and make certain not to overload electrical cords or outlets. As always, have and maintain working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in the home, practice exit drills with the entire family, and in the event of fire make sure everyone is out of the building and call 9-1-1.
