The East Whiteland Fire Company is getting ready to receive a new ambulance in November. The 2016 Ford F-550 chassis with a Life Line body is presently on the production line. One new feature on the new ambulance, unlike past ambulance vehicles, will be Four Wheel Drive which will enable the vehicle to function in snow conditions, rough terrain, and off road locations. This is seen as a great benefit to reach patients in emergency distress not only in East Whiteland Township, but Charlestown Township as well. The ambulance will be delivered to PFUND Superior Sales in Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh on November 10th. Our present ambulance 5-2 will be traded, with equipment being transferred to the new vehicle and licensing by the Pennsylvania Department of Health before it can be placed in service. Our EMS division provides a vital service to our community.
