Route 202 Car Fire

East Whiteland Fire Company responded to a car fire northbound on Route 202 near mile marker 15.4 in East Whiteland Township Thursday evening. Engine 5-1 arrived and quickly deployed a 1 3/4" front bumper line placing the fire under control within minutes. Engine 5-5 followed providing an additional water source if needed while blocking travel lanes to protect the crew in the action zone. Pennsylvania State Police were also on location. The vehicle involved was a Smart Car with fire originating in the rear. EMS Lieutenant Quintin Lotz reporting this was the second call for our new member Nick Proko. Welcome Nick!
