The East Whiteland Fire Company responded to a traffic accident on Valley Hill Road in Charlestown Township Friday afternoon. A vehicle struck a utility pole and cracked the pole midway comprising the integrity of the pole. One person was transported by EMS. The accident was just west of Grouse Lane, near the border of West Whiteland and Uwchlan Townships. Uwchlan Ambulance Corps, East Whiteland Ambulance 5, Engine 5-2, Squad 5, 5-20 EMS Captain. Valley Hill Road remains closed between Grouse Lane and Grandview Way, until PECO and utility crews replace the pole and lines. Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the accident. The road may be closed for most of the night. Thank you to area residents for your cooperation.
