Representatives from Wegmans Food Markets, Inc., 50 Foundry Way in East Whiteland Township, arrived at Station 5 Monday evening to present a check to the East Whiteland Fire Company for $5,200.00 to be used for purchasing AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) units that have recently been placed on all East Whiteland Fire Company apparatus and vehicles, replacing older units. Wegmans and an anonymous donor provided the funding for the AED units. The AED units are critical in helping to save a life when a person goes into cardiac arrest. The newer units are easier and better to use and will save valuable time if and when they are needed. East Whiteland Fire Company member Steve Mulhollan was very instrumental in this project. East Whiteland EMS Captain Kevin McCarthy and EMS Lieutenant Quintin Lotz obtained and installed the new units. Thank you Wegmans Markets for helping our fire company and our community.
