At 8:58 AM Wednesday morning East Whiteland Fire Company was dispatched for a traffic accident on Yellow Springs Road near Route 29 at the East Whiteland and Charlestown Township border. Upon arriving, crews discovered the vehicle had exited the roadway and taken a path into a wooded area with heavy brush and trees. Fire personnel had to use chain saws to down trees and very heavy brush to get to the patient in the vehicle. Malvern Medic 4 was requested and responded to the scene. Also on location were East Whiteland Fire Company Engine 5-2 and 5-1, Ambulance 5, Fire Police with Traffic 5, East Whiteland Township Fire Marshals, Pennsylvania State Police, and Abel Brothers Towing to make an amazing recovery of the vehicle back out the way it came in. This was an unusual incident with a lot of heavy work. Great job by all responders.
