We Need Your Help on the Highway!

When you see us on the highway, emergency vehicles with red or red and blue flashing lights, tow trucks, highway maintenance crews, and highway construction all with yellow flashing lights, please slow down or move over to give us the safety and room we need to work. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania "Steer Clear" law, section 3327 in the vehicle code, requires drivers to move over or slow down when they encounter an emergency scene, traffic stop or disabled vehicle. This law will help prevent injuries and save lives, but only if drivers follow the law and use common sense. The penalty for not slowing down and moving over carries a $250 fine. Help us stay safe by slowing down or moving over, eliminate distractions and focus on the road, and keep enough distance between you and the car in front of you for reaction time. Emergency responders and highway workers are being struck each and every day. Thank you for helping to keep us safe.
