| The year 2015 brought the most anticipated event in quite a long time. It was Wednesday June 24, 2015 when we officially left our old building at 170 Planebrook Road, where the company had been located since the summer of 1957, to our brand new fire station at 205 Conestoga Road. The planning, building, moving in and getting everything organized was a major undertaking, but well worth it and we are very grateful to have such a beautiful home. The ribbon cutting ceremony was held to introduce the new building and thank all those involved in the process. East Whiteland Fire Company and the Boy Scouts of America hosted a memorial service at our new station, remembering the tragedy of September 11, 2001. The Papal visit brought many concerns and meetings about safety and security but fortunately everything went very well. Then, there was the day we had been patiently waiting for, our building dedication and housing. We hosted the Traffic Incident Management course for those responding and working on the highway. We escorted Santa all through our service district to bring joy and excitement to many children, and during all of that, we managed to take care of business, responding to many emergency calls and training events. 2015 was a very good year for the East Whiteland Fire Company. We look forward to the future with hope and promise, as we are ready to help our community and those we serve. |
