Members of the East Whiteland Fire Company along with Boy Scouts of America Troop 76 joined together Sunday morning September 13, 2015 at the new East Whiteland Fire Station to remember the tragic events of September 11, 2001. It is hard to believe it has been fourteen years since our Country experienced such a devastating tragedy which has affected so many lives. The older fire company members and scout leaders explained to the young scouts exactly what took place to help them better understand. The ceremony included a memorial flag raising by the scouts as our company president Gary Sheridan spoke along with scout leaders. The rain and clouds moved out just in time as the sun gave us light for the ceremony, an indication in many ways that darkness always gives way to light. Fourteen years later, we are all still very moved by the events that took place, and yes, we will never forget. A piece of the steel structure from the World Trade Center is on display in the lobby of our new station as a memorial.
