East Whiteland Fire Company is pleased to announce a partnership with Nextdoor. Nextdoor is a free and private social network for neighborhoods where residents can build safer and more personable communities. Chester County, The Pennsylvania State Police and The Chester County Department of Emergency Services utilize Nextdoor to communicate and interact with residents.

Nextdoor allows The East Whiteland Fire Company to utilize an additional communication tool to reach residents within its response area. This new agency account will allow the Fire Company to post information, such as road closures, hazardous conditions, fire alerts and updates, and other emergency notifications. When residents join Nextdoor they will be automatically subscribed to the Fire Company account, allowing them to receive alerts and messages immediately.

Just under 25% of households are utilizing Nextdoor to share information about neighborhood safety issues, local events and local services. With the number of households joining the social network increasing each day, Nextdoor is proving to be an up and coming social media tool for residents of East Whiteland and Charlestown. Residents wishing to join can do so by visiting this link: https://nextdoor.com/choose_address/ or by downloading the app on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
