Chester County unveils two new public information tools

By News Desk K.M.K.
November 14, 2017

Chester County officials unveiled two new items to help educate residents about local fire and EMS incidents. The tools are PulsePoint and an Active Incidents webpage.

PulsePoint contains a comprehensive registry of AED (Automated External Defibrillator) for those in cardiac arrest and allows for residents to register as CPR certified. Residents who are CPR certified can elect to be notified of an individual having a cardiac emergency and perform CPR. The application uses location services to notify trained residents in the immediate area. The app can be downloaded for free from both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

The Chester County Active Incidents Webpage displays all active incidents within Chester County. This allows residents to see active incidents, responding units and a brief description of the incident. Additional pages allow residents to see units that are out of service (OOS) and active road closures. The pages refresh automatically every 60 seconds.
