We would like to thank Wendy and James D. Petrondi for donating early East Whiteland Fire Company parade memorabilia to our company. The items are glassware representing the very first East Whiteland Fire Company Dedication and Housing Ceremony of Saturday September 10, 1960. It was also the very first fire company parade, from the East Whiteland School (Kathryn D. Markley) on Church Road to the firehouse on Planebrook Road. The brand new East Whiteland Township building was also included in the ceremony. Members of fire departments and dignitaries from as far away as Harrisburg were in attendance for the event. Wendy and Jim discovered the items that had been stored since the event date, belonging to Wendy's father, Thomas Reber. Mr. Reber was fire chief at the Glen Moore Fire Company in Chester County from 1964 to 1965 and again from 1977 to 1978. Wendy's husband James was also fire chief at West Chester during the 1980's. We are grateful to have received these important historical items. Thank you Wendy and Jim, and your family for your service and for your donation to our company.
