On Wednesday afternoon, East Whiteland Fire Company Engine 5-1 was dispatched to stand by at West Chester while the West Chester area fire departments were on the scene of a transformer fire and gas leak in West Chester Borough. While on stand by, Engine 5-1 was dispatched to assist at a house fire in West Goshen Township. Engine 5-1 was then deployed to the West Chester incident. The crew of Engine 5-1 performed air quality tests at the Justice Center Building on Market Street. Our thoughts and prayers, and our best wishes are with the West Chester Fire Department members who were injured during the incident.
