On June 24, 2015, the East Whiteland Fire Company moved from our former location at 170 Planebrook Road, to our new facility at 205 Conestoga Road in East Whiteland Township. It was a momentous occasion as the company had been in the former building since 1957. The first housing, dedication, and parade was held in September 1960, as visiting fire companies and dignitaries came from all over the region to celebrate the new firehouse and apparatus. In the spring of 1971 the company celebrated the completion of a major renovation and addition to the existing building. It allowed for additional engine room space, other rooms and a large banquet hall on the top level. With additional and larger apparatus and a need for more space, there were many times during the years when committees were formed to investigate the possibility of a new building. In 2008, company president Gary Sheridan formed a committee consisting of the "Friends of East Whiteland Fire Company" and with help from East Whiteland Township began the process of selecting a location and all the necessary procedures to plan for our new building. Company members were delighted to move into the new building on June 24, 2015 just hours before a ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by a dedication and housing in October 2015. The new building and location has proved to be a wonderful blessing for the company and our community. The East Whiteland Fire Company provides many services and we are constantly seeking volunteers to assist in providing these vital services to our community.
