We would like to thank FireHouse Magazine for publishing our article regarding the dramatic Glasgow Quarry Rescue of September 19, 2016. Emergency responders from all over Chester County rushed to the scene in heavy rain to assist the East Whiteland Fire Company and Malvern Fire Company already on the scene. The immediate response and exceptional teamwork resulted in the rescue of the operator of the large quarry dump truck that had fallen 150 ft. into the 350 ft. massive quarry. FireHouse Magazine Executive Editor Janelle Foskett, East Whiteland Fire Company Captain Greg Lewis, and Deputy Bill Cummings of the Chester County Rescue Task Force were all very helpful in this article being published. We also thank all departments and personnel who responded to assist in heavy rain and difficult circumstances on that morning. We are blessed to have such talented and dedicated emergency responders in Chester County.
