Tuesday morning at 8:17 a.m. the East Whiteland Fire Company was dispatched to Route 30 and Route 202 for a UPS tractor-trailer that flipped, as it was making a turn onto the Route 30 bypass ramp from business Route 30 in East Whiteland Township. The call was initially dispatched to West Whiteland Fire Company until it was found to be in East Whiteland. A large traffic light pole was demolished in the crash, causing the power to be out for all lights at the intersection. UPS brought personnel and trucks to transfer packages from the wrecked trailer and personnel arrived to install a new traffic light pole. With heavy rain and all traffic lights out, it was a difficult task for East and West Whiteland Fire Police providing traffic control. Abel Brothers Towing was on the scene to uplift the trailer once all cargo was removed. One person was transported by East Whiteland EMS to a local hospital.
