EMS Training at Station 5

The EMS (Emergency Medical Services) division of the East Whiteland Fire Company provided training on Monday evening at Station 5 for EMS and department personnel. Various emergency medical equipment on the ambulance along with patient procedures were highlighted, including Epi-Pen (Epinephrine Auto-Injector) used for treatment of emergency anaphylaxis, CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) , and Naloxone (Narcan) used to block the effects of opioids, especially in an overdose. Standard equipment on the ambulance is the stair chair (commonly referred to) in transporting a patient on stairs or limited areas, was also practiced. Our EMT's (Emergency Medical Technicians) on Ambulance 5-1 and 5-2 provide a vital service to our community. In the event of a medical emergency, call 9-1-1.
