The East Whiteland Fire Company has received brand new portable Phillips "Heartstart" life saving AED's (Automatic External Defibrillator). 13 units in all have been placed on all department apparatus and emergency response vehicles. The new units are very easy for responders to use and decrease vital preparation time when a persons heart has stopped beating and time is of the essence. East Whiteland Fire Company member Steve Mulhollan has taken on this very important project to ensure that the older units were replaced. Steve obtained funding for the new AED units from an anonymous donor and Wegmans Markets. These new units are very beneficial in providing an advanced level of life saving care to our community. Thank you to everyone involved!
East Whiteland Fire Company EMS Captain Kevin McCarthy (L) and EMS Lieutenant Quintin Lotz (R) display the new AED units that have been placed on all East Whiteland Fire apparatus vehicles and inside our fire station.
